Hi Martin
yes the Nikes are known to be too small/narrow for the size and you should always buy them in a size larger than you normally would have.

http://www.runningshoesguru.com/?p=13054#comment-347592Hello guys,
I have a question about the sizing of this shoe. I wear 42.5 EU. I went to the store today and tried that shoe size but it did not fit. They did not have 43 unfortunately. Has anyone noticed a problem with the shoe size of this mode?

http://www.runningshoesguru.com/?p=13054#comment-177605Thanks for the comment, while there is tons of phylite on the shoe and I have no doubt getting 1000 miles out of them would be completely possible I’m more worried about how long they’ll work well for. With only 67 miles on them to date (and I’m not particularly tough on shoes, I’ve consistently gotten over 1000 miles on mr00s back when they were my shoes of choice) the small lugs are starting to wear down. At this rate the foam outsole seems on course to be completely flat under my midfoot/toes by 100 miles. Considering how the lack of traction on anything but dry roads my only major qualm with these shoes the fact that they are soon to loose whatever little extra traction they have left is worrisome.
Thanks for the comment! I hope this clears up my opinion on the durability of the shoe.

http://www.runningshoesguru.com/?p=13054#comment-177519Dear Lionello,
i don’t know if the phylite used in these new 4.0 is different from the one used in the previous iterations of the shoe, but i’ve run in 5.0 and 3.0 for years putting at least 1000km on each pair.
And is universally known how resilent and durable phylite in nike frees is.
