My shoe broke. Something like this has never happened to me before. After exactly five runs. I ran a total of 72 km in it. No run was longer than a half marathon. The crack appeared in the sole of one of the shoes. it’s also strange that on the inside – while my natural contact with the road is on the outside in fore part. I planned to run my PR in it for the marathon in April. I am a hobby runner. My 10K times are only around 40 minutes. But I am not overweight (73 kg and 182 cm, 36yrs). I am fore foot runnner. Not even hill striker 😀

The guru’s review is a nice guide. The original price is expensive, thinking on durability. But, ts 9 is for lightweigth runners with a good technique.Non support, is like a glove, try on store before shop. I ll run a 10 k race in 2 weeks . Last pair I used was Puma elite 2, another low weight option, more stable, less reactive.

I’ve tried over a dozen shoes the last few years, and my favorite is still the same as it has always been: the Nike Air Zoom Structure. It’s comfortable, stable, and versatile. An honorable mention goes to the Saucony Tempus, which aside from a slightly odd fit in the forefoot, is also great. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the ASICS GT-2000 and hope to try it soon.

These shoes are a joke. I’m a runner. i run in dirt, puddles gravel. I run everywhere.
This shoe is just silly. The push to sell these is sad to see. Fruit of the loom wants to put one over on everyone since they bought Brooks. “Cheapen the shoe, leather is out, cloth is in” Now pour Zillions into ads to convince people that this flimsy, unsupported excuse for the best is good.

In reply to John. Forgot to add the following in my comment: Original omni had a powerrun+ layer on top of the sole and on top of that a "standard" factory insole was delivered. This made it easy to use your own custom soles as you still kept the supplied powerrun+ layer. In the omni 22, this layer is gone and the powerrun+ is integrated in the thicker delivered insole. So when you use your own custom sole you loose the powerrun+. So when you use your own sole, this shoe is probably not for you.

RACING FLAT. My experience was that the claimed heel-toe drop is negated by the heel which collapses, whereas the midsole loads (and springs). Net result is that you feel your heel really sink into the foam. Very lively, and no doubt fast, but if you’re used to running with a moderate or large drop shoe, I fear there is an injury risk (and I have over $1000 in physio bills -from a previous shoe- to prove this can happen!). Give it a good test run is my advice.

I ran in all omni versions between the Omni 16 and 20 and ran marathons and a couple of ultras in them. The Omni 22 is certainly not like the original Omni series. It is more like an updated and rebranded guide series.
1) The wide base in the midsole and heel is replaced by the tpu frame. That is not the biggest problem as the tpu hollow tech still delivers a stable base although it needs some time to get used to.
2)A big thing to take into account is that the outsole rubber does not role into the nose of the shoe. It just stops when the outsole starts bending to the nose. As a result the nose does not have any structure and you can even press it with your pink after 60 miles. I think this construction caused that I suddenly experienced pain in my big toe. This construction is inherited from the previous guide but there the rocker was not present so it may not have much impact. You may need to consider sizing up 1/2 a size or more

Perfect shoes for Tempo and Speed repeats. Very firm and I love that.
Personally for me are a little bit narrow on the toes.

Perfect daily training shoes. Probably the best I had.
I don’t like shoes to be too cushioned and these have a perfect balance.
So far I use them for long distance trainings (13 Miles) mainly and I reached 250miles without issues or injuries.
I believe I can reach 350 miles before retiring them.
Only the upper part can be improved: I got two holes in the toes.

Excellent daily training shoes.
I retired them after 400 miles and never had any issue.
Stable, light and comfortable.
Good for short and long runs except for race day.

The initial price (~220$) is too high for the overall value.
I cannot feel the energy return.
Apart of this, is a good shoes for the first races, if you are a beginner.

Have you tried walking/raining in the rain with these shoes? They are so slippery (on the ball) that I can’t use them. The heel is no slip and has saved me from completely slipping over. Other brands are no slip. My previous versions of this shoe were also no slip. This newer model is not safe for me to use after the rain because of the slippery front part of shoe.

They are still being sold online from various sellers in 2024. I tried them hoping for something incredible, like the best “ride” ever. It wasn’t. The ride wasn’t firm nor soft but rather slightly mushy feeling. I couldn’t pick up the pace with enjoyment, like with other shoes I have run in in the past. They are certainly are runnable though and my legs were not sore after, which is very important. Definitely not worth $250.00 though! Personally I wouldn’t pay anything for these and wouldn’t run in them if they were free.

You missed the boat on the bootie construction and lockdown. The lock down is excellent and the upper fits snugly on the foot. Ao much so that that the instep actually has over lockdown. Actually too snug at times. Absolutely no issues with the heel. Midwood a little tight though
And comparing the SC Elite to the E speed 3 and the Magic Speed probably not good comparisons. Maybe the E Pro 3 and Metaspeed would be better comparisons.
